Lead a Group Abroad
Faculty-led study abroad programs are the most popular way for ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ students to gain valuable international experience. The Education Abroad office provides guidance and resources to assist faculty members in the development and administration of these high-impact programs. In addition to short-term programs, ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ faculty can also lead semester-long programs in London, Seoul, Kyoto, Granada or Florence.

ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Semester Programs
The International Education Committee is currently accepting applications from ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ tenure and tenure-track faculty (plus full-time lecturers on a three-year contract) who have an interest in teaching on the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Florence Semester Program in Fall 2027. The Florence Semester Program was initiated in Fall 2016 and has been very successful since its inception. Faculty teach two ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ upper-division and supervise students who choose to enroll in an internship in Florence. They also act as faculty of record for a beginning Italian language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Florence). (For a total of 13 WTU.)
Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to Italian and/or European settings.

The Spain Semester Program was initiated in Fall 2026 and is located in Granada, Spain. Faculty teach two ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ upper-division and supervise students who choose to enroll in an internship in Granada. They also act as faculty of record for a beginning Spanish language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Granada). (For a total of 13 WTU.)
Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the Spanish location, or to Europe more generally.

The Japan Semester Program is was initiated in Fall 2026 and is located in Kyoto, Japan. Faculty teach two ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ upper-division and supervise students who choose to enroll in an internship in Kyoto. They also act as faculty of record for a beginning Japanese language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Kyoto). (For a total of 13 WTU.)
Faculty members teaching on this program are expected to relate their instruction to the Japanese and/or Asian settings.

The International Education Committee is currently accepting applications from ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ tenure and tenure-track faculty (plus full-time lecturers on a three-year contract) who have an interest in teaching in the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ London Semester Program during Spring 2028. The London Semester Program has been running since 1986, in partnership with CSU Fullerton. Each campus sends one faculty member to teach two home-campus upper-division in London. ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ are recruited from both campuses and may enroll in any combination of classes from either faculty member. Faculty also supervise students who choose to enroll in an internship in London and act as faculty of record for a British Life and Culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in London)—for a total of 12 WTU.
Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the London and United Kingdom settings.

The Center for International Education is currently accepting applications from ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ faculty who have an interest in teaching in the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ South Korea Semester Program in Spring 2028. This is a new semester option for semester-long, faculty-led study abroad. Faculty teach wo approved ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ upper-division GE courses and also act as faculty of record for a South Korean language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Seoul) and supervise any students who choose to enroll in an internship in Seoul (for a total of 13 WTU).
Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the South Korean and/or Asian setting.
