Carillon Society
The Carillon Society was established in 2009 to honor donors who have contributed $100,000 or more in outright gifts, pledges, and irrevocable trusts to Cal State Long Beach. Such gifts enrich programs and services that advance the university. Of members in the society, the Carillon Award is reserved for donors who have made transformational gifts of $1 million or more.
This society was named after The Beach’s carillon, the Carlson Bloc Tower, which rises proudly on the southeast corner of the university’s student union. The 68-foot bell tower is named after Louise Carlson, a benefactor of the university, and was designed by French sculptor André Bloc. Its bells rang for the first time at the 1972 commencement ceremonies.
Carillon Society Opportunities
Members of the Carillon Society become part of a treasured group of Cal State Long Beach supporters. We are proud to celebrate their dedication to The Beach with the following opportunities:
- A guided walking tour of the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on campus
- Two tickets to any Long Beach State Athletics home game of your choice
- An exclusive mini-cart tour of the sculptures that adorn the university
- A tour of the Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum
- A Carillon Society lapel pin
