Amin Rezaei, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science as well as the director of the Computer Architecture, Reliability, and Security Laboratory (CARS-Lab) at Cal State Long Beach.

 Rezaei’s expertise includes the broad area of security, hardware, and intelligence. He was featured in the Los Angeles Daily News for his explanation of the vulnerability of cybersecurity systems following the CrowdStrike software issues. He is one of the pioneers in hardware security, with several novel initiatives aimed at protecting hardware intellectual property against piracy and reverse engineering. Rezaei’s lab is highly active in democratizing research and has made the source code for its work publicly available.

 Rezaei holds a Ph.D. in computer engineering from Northwestern University. He is also the recipient of an Academic Excellence Award from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the Walter P. Murphy and Royal E. Cabell Fellowship awards from Northwestern University.
