Minimum Qualifications

  • Master of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field, to teach undergraduate courses; Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering to teach graduate courses.
  • Demonstrated potential for effective teaching
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including underrepresented and first-generation students

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in the field of course(s) to be taught
  • Additional qualifications or experience in effectiveness or excellence in teaching
  • Experience mentoring or supporting students in a diverse classroom
  • Experience teaching in the CSU system

Responsibilities

Teach one or more courses in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in specialized areas including:

  • Manufacturing Processes
  • Computer Programming using MATLAB
  • Numerical Methods using MATLAB
  • Dynamics
  • Modeling and Analysis of Mechanical and/or Aerospace Systems
  • Mechanics of Deformable Bodies
  • Controls of Mechanical and/or Aerospace systems
  • Thermodynamics
  • Heat Transfer
  • Fluid Dynamics
  • Design of Mechanical and/or Aerospace Systems
  • CAD/CAM
  • System Engineering and Engineering Management
