Laurel Adler
Dr. Laurel Adler has been a Lecturer in the Department of Health Care Administration at ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵState University Long Beach since 2013. Since 2002, she has also been an adjunct faculty member with the University of San Diego during the summer, where she teaches ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵCredentialing in Career Tech Education Administration. In her former job as Superintendent of East San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational Center, Dr. Adler has also administered a number of licensed training programs including Medical Assisting, CNA Nursing Assistant, Home Health Care, Acute Care, Emergency Medical Technician, Health Science, Phlebotomy, Medical Coding, and First Responder.
Dr. Adler holds a doctorate from the University of La Verne, a master’s from ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵState University Los Angeles, and a bachelor’s from University of ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵIrvine.
Dr. Adler has written and been the co-investigator for numerous federal, state, and private foundation research projects in cooperation with the University of ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵRiverside; and wrote the successful US Department of Labor Youth Career Connect grant. This research grant has been tracking outcomes for high school students enrolled in Health Career Pathways. A recently completed research project funded by the James Irvine Foundation, measured outcomes for high school students participating in health career internships during their junior and senior years.
She is a member of the Board of Directors, of the International Partnership Network, from 2006 to present. This is an International organization dedicated to improving the health and the education of children throughout the world, with emphasis on developing nations. Dr. Adler has chaired numerous WASC accreditation visiting committees in ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵand Hawaii.
