Dina Berg, MPA, is a nonprofit executive, educator, and community advocate with over 15 years of experience leading mission-driven organizations and more than a decade of experience teaching in higher education. She is the co-founder and Executive Director of Heart of Ida, a Long Beach–based nonprofit that provides comprehensive, culturally responsive services to low-income older adults, including food security, healthcare access, digital inclusion, and community connection programs. Under her leadership, Heart of Ida has grown into a trusted community institution recognized for its equity-centered approach and strong community partnerships.
Dina is currently teaching in the MPA program, where she brings real-world nonprofit practice directly into the classroom. She has taught graduate-level courses in nonprofit management, grants administration, leadership, and public administration, and is deeply committed to experiential, hands-on learning. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from UCLA and a Master of Public Administration from ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµState University, Long Beach. Dina regularly mentors students and emerging professionals, helping them navigate career pathways in the nonprofit sector with honesty about both its challenges and its impact.
